Specific teaching assignments depend on the candidate's areas of expertise as well as departmental need. A typical semester would include the directorship of three auditioned choirs - our Concert Choir (SATB) and two a cappella ensembles (SSAA and TTBB) - and one additional assignment, such as: teaching in either our Music Industry Studies or General Education curriculum, leading our newly formed Gospel Ensemble, or other contributions to our applied popular music program. The position also carries an expectation of departmental and college committee service, academic advising and mentoring, the continued pursuit of professional scholarship, the creative participation in our annual performing arts season, and the possibility of private studio instruction.
