We’ll provide you with a short film, and you get inspired! Create a concert composition based upon a character, a piece of dialogue, a mood, a visual motif — whatever moves you. You’ll submit an audio demo file of 3-6 minutes with your music and tell us how you were inspired.
Our judges will evaluate all scores and select five nominees each in our Film/Media Scoring: Emerging and Film/Media Scoring: Youth divisions. A distinguished jury will select the winners, who will be announced during a virtual worldwide ceremony on November 14, 2022. The Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards are presented in partnership with Queens College and the Kupferberg Center for the Arts.
The winner will receive a cash prize of $1,500 US (Emerging division) or $1,000 US (Youth division) and a prize package including software, gear, a $500 gift card courtesy of Hal Leonard Music AND your score may be published by our sponsor Concord — an industry leader in music publishing.
