Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatres, seeks an energetic, personable individual to join the company as the Education Coordinator for the Theatrical Workforce Development Program. TWDP is a three-year technical theatre training program for 18-24 year old NYC residents that is a partnership between Roundabout Theatre Company and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

This person will support the Theatrical Workforce Development Program by coordinating materials, equipment, documentation, processes, events, and supporting participants and staff. This position reports to the Education Manager, TWDP.

This is some of what the Education Coordinator, Theatrical Workforce Development Program will do:

Operations

- Coordinate all technical theatre equipment, laptops/iPads, and studio space for the program.
- Communicate with Teaching Artists and Guest Artists to acquire needed materials for workshops and projects.
- Purchase new equipment and materials and arrange for the servicing of existing equipment.
- Process payroll for program participants.
- Coordinate program events including invitation lists, space requests, and catering.
- Arrange and coordinate all program travel.
- Create and maintain program documents.
- Assist Education Manager and Training Coordinator with the onboarding of all program participants.
- Support TWDP Fellows and Alumni with IT, administrative, and other program related needs.

Curriculum Coordination and Job Development

- Work with Teaching Artists to ensure that all lesson plans and lesson support materials are organized and easily accessible.
- Work with Teaching Artists and program manager to coordinate participant assessments.
- Assist program manager with curriculum asset creation including handouts, support files, graphics, and videos.
- Assist program manager with the administration of the Learning Management System.
- Coordinate and attend site visits with the Education Manager, Job Developer, and Training Coordinator.
- Administer and coordinate program surveys.
- Assist Education Manager, Job Developer, and Training Coordinator with follow up correspondence and scheduling with program partners regarding participant and program feedback.

Reporting and Other Duties

- Maintain and modify data collecting tools in coordination with Education Manager, Data & Career Development.
- Communicate with teaching artists, training partners, external clients, and Roundabout staff via phone, email, and in-person meetings to administer programming.
- Assist Education Manager to create, maintain, and update all marketing materials for TWDP events in coordination with Roundabout’s Marketing department.
- Collaborate with Education staff to ensure program is represented on Education at Roundabout’s social media.
- Participate in internal professional development programming.
- Provide support to Education Staff to produce the annual Student Theatre Arts Festival, Student Matinees, Hidden Career Path Day, and other essential programming.
- Represent Roundabout and TWDP at arts education conferences, workshops, and other events.

This is some of what the Education Coordinator, Theatrical Workforce Development Program should know:

- Training in theatre, education, arts administration or related field from an educational institution or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience required in the field of arts administration, career development, technical theatre, or similar work.
- An ideal candidate will have excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
- A general knowledge of all aspects of professional theatre.
- An elemental knowledge of technical theatre is preferred.
- Experience as an educator and/or Teaching Artist highly preferred.
- Knowledge of IATSE contracts and history a plus.
- Computer software skills: Microsoft Office/365, especially Microsoft Excel, Adobe - Creative Suite, Google Suite, DocuSign, Slack.
- Tessitura knowledge and experience a plus.
- Experience with photography and video editing a plus.
- Experience working with young adults ages 18-24, students, educators, workforce professionals, industry professionals, artists, and arts education professionals.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Some weekend and evening hours required. Flexible scheduled based on programming schedule.
- Travel on public transit within metropolitan NYC area including NJ required.
- Some travel outside of NYC may be required once or twice per year for conferences.
- Driver’s license a plus, not required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.

This is a full-time position with all standard Roundabout benefits. The starting salary is $48,000 annually plus any overtime for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
