The Kentucky District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, sponsored by OperaLex, will be held on November 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. EST at Centenary Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Kentucky District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, formerly known as the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, is happy to announce our November 22, 2025 competition date. Sponsored by OperaLex, the Kentucky District plans to award up to $6000 in prize money this year.
Judges for the 2025 Kentucky District will be:

Schedule of events: (times are approximate and subject to change)
9:00 a.m. - Centenary Church will open for registration of singers. Singers should plan to arrive and check-in at least 45 minutes before their assigned audition time.
10:00 a.m. - Competition begins
12:00 p.m. - Lunch break
12:30 p.m. - Competition resumes
2:15 p.m. - Competition ends, judges deliberate
2:45 p.m. - Awards announced
3:15 p.m. - Feedback with judges, in order of singers' performance
