About

One of North America’s premier training programs, the MN Opera Resident Artist Program offers a full season of employment for talented artists beginning their professional careers. From September through May, Resident Artists gain valuable experience through mainstage productions and community performances, while refining their skills off stage and mentoring with guest instructors and staff.

Resident Artist singers perform and cover appropriate roles in mainstage productions, working with world-class directors, designers, and conductors. Regular coachings, performance classes with guest clinicians, individualized language work, and classes about the business aspects of managing a career are among the program's training components.

Requirements

Resident Artists must be United States citizens or have the right to work in the United States. If applicants secure a contract, non-U.S. citizens must acquire right-to-work documentation. This process is completed ONLY after successfully securing a contract with Minnesota Opera and will be done at your own expense.

We especially encourage applications from individuals who may contribute to the further diversification of culture and ideas at Minnesota Opera.

Application Information

All materials must be submitted online via the Resonance application:

* Please note that it is acceptable to change audition repertoire for the audition from what is listed on the application.
* Repertoire selections must satisfy these requirements for the application to be considered.
