Cheryl Hazan Gallery is a contemporary art gallery established in 1995 and located in TriBeCa, New York.
We are seeking a responsible, highly motivated, positive team player to take charge of sales and managing the gallery. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years experience at a gallery working with artists and doing sales.
Applicant must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
The position is Wednesday-Saturday 12:00- 6:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities / Requirements:
1. Comfortable interfacing with client, artists and collaborators
2. Client development and sales
3. Oversee and coordinate art handling - shipping / receiving
4. Liaise between artist and gallery
5. Prepare consignment agreements, file artwork details, images, statements, bios
6. Manage correspondence with gallery visitors, maintain mailing lists
7. Maintain website, database and Artsy
8. Oversee invitations newsletters and guest lists
9. Generate and manage calendar
10. Expertise in MS office suit, adobe creative suite, Photoshop and proficiency with FileMaker and Artlogic
11. Possess an in-depth understanding of each artist’s individual practice and biography
12. Maintain relationships with collectors and press
13. Coordinate gallery exhibitions and oversee installation and de-install
14. Plan and manage art fair presentations and applications, both domestic and international
15. Write and edit gallery press releases
16. Manage the day-to-day affairs of the gallery and order office supplies
