Casting Aquila Theatre is in its 31st season and will be touring Jane Austen’s "Pride and Prejudice" and Shakespeare’s "Julius Caesar" in the Fall of 2022. The plays will be performed in repertory and actors in the ensemble company will perform in both plays, playing multiple roles. Company members will also lead theatrical workshops & masterclasses for university and high school level students. seeking one NYC-based female actor who identifies as Black, Indigenous (in the Americas), or other Person of Color, to join a diverse cast of six for both “Pride and Prejudice” and "Julius Caesar". The plays will be performed in repertory and all actors in this ensemble company will perform in both plays, playing multiple roles. Company members will be required to lead or assist in theatrical workshops for university and high school-level students. Must be comfortable with a devised approach to both works, able to quickly morph into several characters, and be comfortable and familiar with a physical approach to storytelling. Prior theater training and experience is required.

Estimated payment amount: US$720.00 per week (Estimated duration: 14 weeks)
Additional: Production states: "This is a non-union professional contract. The base rate is $720/week (USD) for a 48hr work week. Additional duties if needed (driving, company management, ASM etc.) will be compensated separately. While on tour, actors will also be paid per diem ($60/day USD). Rehearsals will be held in NYC and start August 8th. The end of the fall tour will conclude in mid November with the possibility to re-sign for the spring leg (January through March). All travel and accommodation while on tour will be paid for and arranged by Aquila Theatre. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status and booster is required for in person audition and employment."
Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations
Rehearsals begin Aug. 8 in NYC. Technical rehearsals in California in mid-Sept with the tour starting directly after and ending in mid-Nov. Locations are throughout the US.
