Assistant Studio Manager, Part-time, Tribeca, Manhattan
for Feminist Sculptor and Non-Profit
In-person work, 4 hours/day, Suggested 10-2 pm, $20/hour
This is a rare opportunity to liaison between the work of a feminist sculptor’s studio and that of a non-profit arts organization which is focused on diversity and justice, with a mission that includes inspiring upstanders rather than bystanders.
Working in a gallery environment in Tribeca, the Assistant Studio Manager must have excellent administrative skills, be extremely neat/organized/detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy, possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to efficiently assist with multiple daily operational aspects of a fast-paced, dynamic studio.
The Assistant Studio Manager will thrive if self-motivated to work both alone and in collaboration with others. A professional, calm demeanor, flexibility, social skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and deadlines are all essential.
Academic/Professional Requirements: 4-year degree preferred but not required, some arts administration/office experience. Excellent writing skills. Driver’s license a plus.
The Assistant Studio Manager will work directly under the Studio Manager and President, and often collaborate with the Museum Liasion. The Assistant Studio Manager will participate in daily studio operations including general administration such as maintaining databases, art and digital archives, maintenance/updates of inventories and several websites, photo documentation of artwork/events, and public relations/social media/eblasts. Further responsibilities include overseeing art pickup/drop-offs and helping manage interns, assistants, and contractors.
Computer Skills: Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop (used often at the studio), Indesign and Adobe Illustrator; Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint; WordPress; Constant Contact; Video Editing; Social Media
P/T: Suggested 10am to 2pm M–F with rare evening or weekend hours for scheduled cocktail parties, panels, lectures, interviews and other events after Covid.
$20 per hour
