REJOICE! WORSHIP MUSIC DIRECTOR

The primary responsibilities of the part-time Rejoice! Worship Music leader is to lead and grow the contemporary music ministry at Palm Valley Lutheran that aligns with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of our church. The candidate will possess an adaptable skill set and leadership capabilities, which will enable a worship ministry to grow with us as we consider future worship opportunities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit, lead, and rehearse a music team (singers and instrumentalists) to lead worshippers’ participation in the weekly contemporary worship, periodic combined worship, and holy seasons of the year.
Plan, coordinate, and prepare weekly rehearsals with the music team.
Attend meetings with pastors and other music staff as needed to plan and coordinate worship responsibilities. Select music in cooperation with pastors and other music staff as needed.
Create a positive team experience with the Rejoice! Music Team. Keep the Senior Pastor aware of any needs of individuals (births, sickness, crises, etc.).
Work cooperatively with the accompanist, pastors, other music staff, and church leaders in a spirit of mutual support and respect.
Meet with the Worship and Music Team and any other group related to the contemporary worship service.
Assist in planning, implementing, and leading music for special events outside of Sunday worship services.
Develop and administer an annual budget for the Rejoice! worship music ministry.
Maintain and organize Rejoice! Worship music resources.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
5 Years experience in contemporary Christian music, leading musicians, and singers.
Proficiency in leading worship with strong vocal ability. The capability of leading with a keyboard, guitar, or other instruments.
Ability to incorporate a variety of musical instruments and singers to create
Knowledgeable of Lutheran theology, liturgical practice, and the use of contemporary music in corporate worship.
Ability to work well with others and participate collegially with staff members, pastors, and congregational leaders.'
Pay: $20,000.00 - $22,000.00 per year
