The Stewardship Manager is responsible for supporting the growth of corporate support to the Kennedy Center, including the NSO, VSA and WNO, by planning and leading a comprehensive strategic stewardship plan for new and existing donors. The Manager will oversee team wide strategy related to activation of benefits and tracking donor participation and engagement with the Kennedy Center. The Manager will maintain a portfolio of donors and coordinate with other areas of the department to ensure that funding priorities are clear and that the KC, WNO, VSA and NSO corporate relationship managers can activate around donor plans effectively and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities
60% Project Management/Stewardship
Work with the Chief Development Officers from WNO and/or NSO along with the Director of Corporate Relations to develop, plan, and execute stewardship plans for support of the WNO, NSO, VSA and Kennedy Center corporate donors.Implement strategies for communicating fundraising goals and objectives to AMs and AssistantsInitiate and build ongoing relationships with current and prospective new donors to execute on identified benefits.Manage the activation of designated funding to select artistic, educational, social impact initiatives, and event sponsorship. Ensure appropriate stake holders receive high quality information from corporate development team.Manage the team’s outreach to programming, education, and social impact staff to:solicit information about program/project/festival plans as they are developed;evaluate current programs for funding potential and recommend new initiatives based on known interests of funders;effectively utilize Tessitura database team, special events, and prospecting pipeline effectively to create opportunities for team successOversee coordination with SSP team to plan, and execute annual fundraising strategy for major special events with regards to stewardship and benefits.Engage with WNO, NSO, VSA and Kennedy Center senior leadership, Trustees, and major donors as appropriate to advance fundraising goals.30% Management
Supervise two Officers and one Assistant in managing stewardship campaigns, as outlined above.Provide sufficient training so as to ensure increasing ability for the Officers to take on complex projects.Participate in Development Department meetings, planning, and campaign implementation for current or long-term operating and capital purposes.Contribute to the Development Department’s strategic planning initiatives through joint leadership and core pillarsActively promote a collegial and collaborative working relationship with all Kennedy Center employees.Oversee onboarding for new team membersAdvocate for the corporate team’s abilities10% Strategic Planning
