Casting a devised immersive production highlighting the events and effects of Disco Demolition Night, the 1979 riot at Comiskey Park in Chicago that "killed disco". Note: The production examines the interplay of rock, punk, and disco genres, the cultures and people that represent them, and the lasting impact of disco. As a highly collaborative devised piece, the Journalists seek collaborators reflective of the black and queer communities that gave life to the underground dance and music movement, and to center their stories. Fully devised production seeking performers and multi-hyphenate theatre artists. Summer development sessions with flexible schedule, planning for an early November workshop production.
Vaccination required for all collaborators.
