About

Seeking versatile performers for the "Drunk Shakespeare," now opening in Phoenix, AZ. Production states: "Each night, one actor downs several shots before the ensemble attempts a Shakespeare play. Inhibitions are released, the muse is invoked, and the troupe communes with the spirits. Pop culture, current events, and Shakespeare’s entire cannon fill a hidden library speakeasy with story, music, drinks, and more in Mt Vernon Square. Since 2014, Drunk Shakespeare has been entertaining audiences from all over the world with productions in NYC and Chicago. Drunk Shakespeare is a New York Times Critics’ Pick and 'the best thing to ever happen to the theater,' according to Slate Magazine. The Chicago Tribune said it 'may just wind up being one of the most enjoyable ways to experience a tragedy,' and the productions consistently rank amongst the top experiences on TripAdvisor. Alumni from the cast of Drunk Shakespeare have gone on to perform on and off-Broadway, in the West End, and across the country in national equity tours. We are intentionally seeking a diverse ensemble and encourage performers of all backgrounds, ages, sizes, racial identities, physical abilities and gender-identities and/or non-conforming to apply for any roles. Note: With the exception of The Host, all roles will be required to drink alcohol on stage approximately once a week."
