Gagosian is seeking interns to join the gallery’s New York locations.
Applicants must be highly responsible, organized, and detail-oriented, with a strong interest in art. The ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, and prioritize is essential. General Interns must be friendly and professional. They will work closely with a delegated department and will also provide support to general gallery operations on a daily basis.
Through Gagosian’s newly developed internship program, Interns will be immersed in all aspects of the gallery and will work with various departments including, Sales, Exhibitions, Publications, Marketing & Social Media, etc, gaining valuable experience and cultivating lasting relationships.
In addition to their daily responsibilities outlined below, Interns will have access to lectures from leaders within the gallery, and participate in team projects including exhibition walk-throughs with key members of Gagosian staff and artists.
Duties include but are not limited to
–Assisting gallery staff with daily operations, supporting colleagues across sales, artist liaison, research, and events.
–Providing support to Front Desk staff with visitor inquiries and essential administrative tasks (including mail send-outs, publication and stock management, preparing offices for client meetings, expenses).
–Participating in gallery openings and events.
Qualifications
–Current undergraduates, recent graduates, or postgraduate students with degrees in Art History or related fields.
–Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
–A strong desire to pursue a career in the art world.
–Flexibility, attention to detail, and a desire to learn are essential.
–Prior museum, auction house, or gallery experience is preferable.
–Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
Position Type
–10 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with additional hours for openings and events.
–Full-time and Part-time positions available.
Compensation
A rate of $15.50 per hour.
