Seeking Seasonal Performers/Actors. Note: Come join Fairyland’s Youth Theatre team as a Seasonal Performer/Actor for a chance to express your creativity while introducing the magic of the performing arts to the youngest members of our community! We are looking for two energetic candidates who want to share their love for the arts to empower students to embrace social and emotional learning strategies while creating positive mindsets towards themselves and our community. The Fairyland Seasonal Performers/Actors act in live entertainment and stage productions that engage, educate and delight Fairyland’s young audiences. Reporting to the Theater Programs Manager, Seasonal Performers/Actors at Fairyland attend rehearsals and commit to production dates for the Fall Theatre for the Very Young production for the 2022-2023 season. Rehearsals will commence on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Shows will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Professional training/experience in the musical theater and Theatre for the Very Young Audiences. Experience and interest in working with students ages 3-10. Experience and interest in working with students from diverse populations with a wide range of abilities. Committed and passionate about theater and arts education. A commitment and deep interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of Fairyland’s programming and initiatives. Possess a clear background history with no barriers to working with children. Strong work ethic with an orientation toward process improvement. Impeccable integrity and honesty. Physical Requirements: This position is primarily located in an outdoor environment. Able to perform the following duties with or without accommodation: Stand, sit, kneel, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for the duration of an eight hour shift. Traverse safely over uneven terrain throughout the entirety of the 10-acre amusement park. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Respond quickly to sounds. See and respond quickly to situations. Communicate in a clear, loud voice. Operate a two-way radio for communications with park personnel. Work in outdoor, seasonal weather conditions for 100% of shift. Ability to work on weekends and holidays. Proven track record of punctuality and attendance. Current COVID-19 Requirements. Ability to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to start of employment. Ability to wear and maintaining a face mask for the duration of the scheduled shift.

Additional: This is a seasonal, part-time non-exempt position scheduled from August 7 through October 17, 2022. We expect successful candidates to be able to work Fridays through Sundays, approximately two hours per day/six hours per week and attend rehearsals on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The non-negotiable rate of pay is $33.00 per hour.
